CANACONA
Amid rising tensions between locals of Khotigao and the forest department which have led to cases being filed against three persons, Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar on Thursday intervened in the matter and convened a joint meeting with both parties to seek a resolution.
Tawadkar held a meeting with the forest department officials along with Khotigao Sarpanch Vrunda Velip, Panchayat members, and a few locals to work out a mutually beneficial resolution regarding the recent construction in the wildlife area. The outcome of the meeting was, however, unknown but Tawadkar is keen to arrive at an amicable solution.
