A staffer has been booked by Valpoi police on charges of embezzling Rs 12 lakh from a pharmacy in Valpoi.
In a police complaint, the owner of the pharmacy stated that the staffer, who had been managing the pharmacy, would deposit the cash received every day in her own bank account instead of depositing it in the company’s bank account.
After investigating this matter, the owner realised that the money deposited into the company’s account was far lower than what was expected from the sales. The owner then realised that cash from the pharmacy was not being deposited in the company’s account but was deposited in another account.
Acting on the police complaint, Valpoi police registered a case in the matter and PSI Khushali Naik is conducting further investigation under the guidance of Police Inspector Viddesh Shirodkar.
