The Goa government has written to the sent seeking relaxations to the Noise Pollution Regulation and Control Rules, 2000, stated Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral in the house today.
He said he has written to Union Minister for Forests and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav to seek the relevant relaxations.
In the letter he has also pressed for the need for an independent categorisation or zone as well as the definition of daytime and night time which should be treated on par with industrial areas, where noise pollution norms are relaxed.
The House witnessed a debate over the law on noise pollution and the need to revisit it in Goa's context.
