Officials said that water supply disruptions following such planned shutdowns can last up to two days.
It takes nearly eight hours for water from Selaulim to reach Margao after pumping resumes, and up to a day to reach Mormugao.
Full normalization of supply across the network can take at least 48 hours.
Sources noted that a general power shutdown of this scale typically affects water supply to residents in Sanguem, Quepem, Salcete and Mormugao, all of which depend on the Selaulim pipeline network.
