Support armed forces' activities to inspire youth, says Minister

VASCO

Urban Development Minister Milind Naik has said activities by the armed forces must be supported and encouraged so that youth can be inspired towards patriotism and national integration.

Naik was speaking to reporters after flagging off a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Cycle Rally from the CISF Unit at Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) Administrative Building at Sada.

The minister said the over 2,000-km expedition of the CISF cyclists from Kerala to Gujarat is an emblem of unity and patriotism by the armed forces.

“Civilians may not know the many activities taken up by them and we must respect and salute their spirit and encourage such activities. Such events inspire youth towards patriotism and national integration,” said Naik.

Speaking to reporters, a CISF cyclist said: “We want to carry a message of unity across the places we cycle and boost the morale of people we meet, to imbibe national integration and unity in them.
