A taxi which was illegally being used for ride-hailing services through a taxi aggregator app was seized by Mopa Police Traffic Cell on Friday.
According to Mopa Traffic Police Inspector Mahesh Kerkar, the taxi had arrived from Mapusa to Mopa to drop passengers, when local taxi operators confronted the taxi driver picking up a customer who had booked the taxi through the non-permitted app. They later complained to the Mopa Traffic Police.
The taxi was later seized by the Mopa Traffic Police and handed over to transport authorities for further action. At present, the particular taxi aggregator app is not permitted in the State.
