Teachers should guide students to excel: CM

Teachers can impart thorough and proper guidance to students about their careers to excel as per their capabilities especially the students from rural areas who could not secure career oriented education due to lack of proper career guidance, said the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Sawant was speaking at a function organized in the city to celebrate and confer State Teachers Awards 2021.

The State Government through the Directorate of Education celebrated 60th Teachers Day 2021 with pomp and fervor and felicitated the teachers with State Awards 2020-2021 at the hands of the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said that the teachers have to think about the career of the students and should focus upon innovative and creative educative methods to bring revolution in education. The Government has provided information of options of skill development on State and national portal. The Government he said will strive to implement New Education Policy in the State from next academic year.

In creating new technocrats he said the Government has introduced Robotics and Coding syllabus and have engaged adequate trained manpower. He exhorted the teachers to work to inculcate in the minds of students the idea of career oriented education and imbibe upon their minds updated innovation and creativity.

The Chief Minister further speaking said teachers play important role in shaping the destiny of the students and added that teachers have to keep themselves abreast of the latest happenings regularly. He suggested them to reach the message of Atmanirbhar bharat to grass-root level.

The teachers who received awards at the hands of the Chief Minister are Dilip Tukoji Mhamal, GPS Chawdewada Parsem Pednem; Vivekanand KP Gaonkar, GPS, Mauling Poinguinim, Canacona; Vidya Krishna Mhalsekar, GHS, Valpoi Sattari; Desai Avinash D. Virnodkar, BBV, Hiltop, Ribandar Tiswadi, Mahadev H Shinde, Gujarati Samaj Special School, Aquem, Margao, Elba Bertha Noronha, GHS, Balli, Quepem, Vilas Ramnath Satarkar, KBHHS, Cujira Bambolim, Sindhu Prabhu Desai, GMHSS Borda, Margao, Chandralekha D. Mestri, SS Angle HSS Mashem-Loliem, Canacona, Rupa SP Khope, VDHSS Cujira, Bambolim.

In Teachers day fund Collection ADEI Sattari, ADEI Canacona and ADEI Bardez secured first, second and third places respectively.

Director of the Department of Education, Bhushan Savoikar welcomed the guests. Devidas Kudav Vice- Principal DIET, compered the function.
