Temporary parking arrangements in Bardez

The North Goa District Magistrate has announced temporary parking arrangements for heavy and medium tourist vehicles in Calangute, Baga and Candolim areas to manage the increased footfall during Christmas and New Year celebrations. These arrangements will remain in effect till February 28, 2025.

Temporary parking for heavy and medium vehicles such as buses, mini-buses, and tempos has been designated near Fat Fish Restaurant in barren fields, near Bodke Wadakade, Pobowado in barren fields and the open space adjacent to the Calangute Police Station.

For light motor vehicles, parking has been arranged near Poriat Cross, near Poriat Ground opposite Patil Juice Centre (GTDC Parking), Baga End, Calangute Association Football Ground, and the GTDC parking lot near Bandodkar statue/Calangute bus stand. Additional parking areas include opposite Royal Jamo’s Resort (Jacinto Road), behind Babreshwar Temple, Calangute, near Bandodkar statue opposite Sagar Hotel, near GTDC Ground Baga, in the field of Sahani property before New Baga Bridge, open field next to Sahani property Baga End, katcha road leading to STP Plant Baga End, road leading to Sewerage Treatment Plant on both sides behind Big Tap Brew House restaurant, parking lot next to Nazri Resort Baga, behind Titos statue fiesta restaurant, Baga and opposite Taleshwar Temple, Baga Bridge.

To ease congestion during the tourist season, heavy vehicles will be banned from December 25, 2024, to January 5, 2025, from Dolphin Circle to Acacia Hotel at Sinquerim, Dolphin Circle to Bandodkar statue via Calangute post office and KFC junction, St Anthony Chapel to KFC junction, Baga Circle to Baga End, and the internal road at Tito’s lane from Bharat junction to Club Mambos.

However, heavy vehicles carrying construction materials, sewage tankers and goods carriers will be permitted entry to Calangute and Baga between 5 pm and 9:30 pm till January 30, 2025.
