Three thefts reported in State

In a span of just three hours on Friday, the State recorded three theft cases at separate locations wherein four distinct valuables “ jewellery, cash, a two-wheeler and laterite stones were stolen by unknown accused.

In the first case at St Cruz, one Prakash Bhat complained to the Panaji police that unknown accused committed theft of his motorcycle (GA-07-D-2151) parked in an open space. The second theft case was registered by Curchorem police station based on a complaint filed by Mamlatdar of Dharbandora Laxmikant Kuttikar alleging that there was illegal extraction of laterite stone in Bandoli village. The FIR under IPC, MMDR Act and Goa Mines Minerals Concession rule is registered against the unknown owner of the plot where the alleged illegal extraction took place.

At Mapusa, an apartment at Duler was burgled wherein the unknown occupants of a Karnataka-registered car decamped with gold and diamond jewellery in addition to Rs 30,000 cash.

The accused in all three cases remain unknown while the police teams claim they are working on leads to crack these cases. The police have also appealed to the people to inform their housing societies or nearest police station about their absence to prevent break-ins.
