Seeking to explain the party’s decision to drop Rajya Sabha MP Luizinho Faleiro as National Vice President, State TMC President, Kiran Kandolkar said the party has decided to have one-person-one post as the new norm.
“Faleiro is already a Rajya Sabha MP and hence he was dropped from the post of national vice president. The party has not excluded Goa and Goans will also be part of the national executive,” said Kandolkar.
He was responding to queries after TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee had dissolved the National Executive and had dropped Faleiro as National Vice President, before constituting a new national committee.
To another query, Kandolkar insisted that the party is here to stay in the State.
Commenting on the party’s role after the assembly polls in the State, Kandolkar said: “The question of TMC staying in Goa till elections does not arise. The party is here to stay and as the party’s state president, I will work to ensure we grow irrespective of our performance in the polls.”
