Calangute police arrested a tout for committing theft of a mobile phone and a gold chain on Tuesday.
An Apple iPhone 8 was recovered from the accused.
The accused, Anwar Ali Molla (27) is a native of West Bangal but presently residing in Calangute.
The complainant Rajesh Patil had lodged a complaint that his iPhone 8 and a gold chain were stolen by an unknown person.
Calangute Police managed to arrest the accused during the ongoing drive against touts and during interrogation the accused confessed of the crime.
Calangute Police has arrested the accused and is conducting further investigation.
