The South Goa Sessions Court on Tuesday granted transit bail for a lady doctor, who was arrested by the Gumla police, Jharkhand.
While granting the transit bail, Additional Sessions Judge Vincent D’Silva ordered that the applicant execute a personal bond of Rs 20,000 with one surety in the like amount.
The applicant was ordered to report to the CJM, Gumla, Jharkhand in Crime No 15/18 of A.H.T.U, Gumla Police, Jharkhand within 20 days from Tuesday.
The Gumla police had arrested the lady doctor on April 9 in the execution of a warrant issued by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gumla for the commission of an alleged offence under Sections 363, 365, 367, 368, 370, 371 of IPC and is presently in police custody.
While granting the transit bail, Judge Vincent said there is nothing on record that the applicant was served in the matter and has been evading the process of the Court or was aware of the proceedings pending before CJM, Gumla, Jharkhand.
“The applicant is a doctor by profession and has undertaken to remain present before the CJM, Gumla within 20 days from today in the above proceeding. The applicant had no prior brushing with the law and no criminal antecedents. The application for transit bail deserves to be granted with conditions”, the Judge observed.
