VASCO
A mango tree crashed on the house of one Ladu Parwar at Vaddem in Vasco on Saturday morning amidst strong winds and incessant torrential rains.
While the family sleeping inside the house escaped unhurt, the house was damaged with a wall collapsing. Speaking to media, Parwar said that the incident occurred at 6.45 am.
"We had incessant rains and strong winds in the last few days. Secondly, there is a speed breaker on the road near Goa Shipyard Limited and every time a heavy vehicle passes the speed breaker, houses in the area vibrate. This vibration has caused cracks on several houses in the area and we had even complained but there was no action," Parwar said.
"My mother was sleeping in one room and my children were sleeping in the other room but there was no injury and we all escaped unhurt," he said.
