Two stalls go up in smoke in cylinder blast in Anjuna

In a fire incident caused due to a gas cylinder blast, two stalls were reduced to ashes at Vagator in Anjuna in the wee hours of Friday, officials at the Mapusa fire station informed.
The total loss is estimated at around Rs 2.50 lakh.
According to reports, a fast-food stall owned by Santosh Ambekar caught fire which resulted in the explosion of a gas cylinder. The fire then spread to a nearby stall.
Ambekar suffered burn injuries on his face due to the fire incident.
Upon getting information, a fire tender of Mapusa fire station rushed to the site and extinguished the fire but by then both the stalls were reduced to ashes.
Mapusa fire station officer, Dyaneshwar Sawant along with Nitin Chodankar, Hitesh Parab and Girish Gawas took part in the operation to extinguish the fire.
Anjuna Police conducted the panchanama.
