Margao police made its presence felt in the city markets and the Margao Municipal building to instil confidence amongst the citizens.
A team of Margao police led by Police station in-charge, PI Tulsidas Naik and ATS personnel conducted a mock drill inside the Margao Municipal building in the evening.
The team later patrolled on foot in the congested markets which has witnessed huge crowds of shoppers this year.
PI Tulsidas said the mock drill as well as foot patrolling was conducted by the Margao police to instil confidence in the citizens and to send a strong warning to the troublemakers that the police means business.
Meanwhile, the Margao Police has booked over 50 cases of motor vehicle violations in the last two days. Late Friday evening, a team led by PI Tulsidas descended on the roads with traffic police to check motor vehicle violations.
