Alongside Sweet Water Lake and a designated place for the Ganesh immersion ceremony at Assolda-Quepem, a new Children's Park with modern equipment will be soon inaugurated, following efforts by ZP Sidharth Gauns Dessai with support and assistance of PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral.
Siddharth Gauns Dessai said there was a lot of open space surrounding the Sweet Water Lake which was frequented by villagers in the evenings.
As the space was lying idle, Gauns Dessai along with the panchayat members proposed to set up a Children's Park in the area and soon got it sanctioned with support of PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral.
Set up at a cost of around Rs 24 lakh, the Children’s Park which also has pavers for walks will provide an ideal spot for children in the village to play in their free time. The park will also have an enclosure so that the parents will be left free to do walking while their children play safely in the play area.
Gawas informed that the project will be ready by the first or second week of April and will be inaugurated soon.
