Exposing alleged lies by the State government, GFP President Vijai Sardesai claimed that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Resident Commissioner of Goa were already in possession of the DPR for the Kala-Bhandura project in the year 2020.
“CM says he has asked the Centre for a copy of the DPR but the Resident Commissioner of Goa was handed over a copy followed by a written communication to the CM, by the Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat,” Sardesai said.
As per the letter, the Central government stated that ‘the PFR/DPR of the Kalasa and Bhandura diversion schemes have already been shared with the Resident Commissioner of Goa.’
Asked to respond to Sardesai's charge that he was lying about being unaware of the DPRs, Sawant shot back: "Vijai has nothing else to do. He will only make allegations. The DPR mentioned in that letter is an old one which was rejected. The ones approved by CWC now, are new DPRs re-submitted by Karnataka which we have not been given."
