The Bhomkars remained hopeful that justice will be served to them by the highest authorities in the country which includes the President and the Prime Minister.
“We have high hopes that justice will be meted out to us by the President and the PM,” one of the petitioners Sunil Bhomkar informed The Goan.
When questioned the reason behind approaching the highest authorities, Bhomkar said that before they had petitioned the Chief Minister, the State BJP president and the local MLA.
“But we did not get any reply from them. So, we had no option but to approach the highest authorities in the country for justice,” Bhomkar added.
Leader Sanjay Naik opined that the government has done re-alignment in certain places without any demand from the people.
“For instance, in Bambolim, just to save a couple of buildings, re-alignment was done and there was absolutely no demand from the locals,” Naik pointed out.
“So, whey the government cannot build a bypass road to save the culture, traditions, temples and houses of Bhomkars?” he questioned.
