MARGAO
The newly-inaugurated western bypass recorded its first accident on Monday evening, just hours after the four-lane road was officially commissioned by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

The accident occurred on the Benaulim-Seraulim stretch of the bypass, involving a crane and a four-wheeler car. Locals, who quickly arrived at the scene, were attempting to determine the cause of the collision. They speculated whether the crane was engaged in work on the bypass or was clearing stray animals at the time of the incident.

Despite the road being fully illuminated along the stretch, sources noted that several questions remained unanswered regarding the circumstances leading to the accident.
