The no-confidence motion against Chimbel sarpanch Chandrakant Kunkolkar will be taken up at a special meeting in the panchayat on July 6 at 11 am.
Seven panchas in the 11-member panchayat have moved the motion against the sarpanch alleging that he was not cooperative.
It is for the second time during the current term that Kunkolkar is facing a no-trust motion and questions are being raised whether the motion will face a similar fate like last time around when it fizzled out after one panch switched sides.
It was in 2018 that a similar no-trust motion was moved by six panchas against the sarpanch as well as the deputy sarpanch. However, on the day of the no-trust motion, five panchas who were signatories to the movement remained absent as the sixth panch had switched sides resulting in the defeat of the motion.
