Mining dept conducts raids in Cumbharjua

In a raid conducted on Thursday in the Cumbharjua, theMining department confiscated five sand mining canoes and arrested 69 peopleincluding owners of these canoes and their workers.

All were arrested by the Old Goa police and the offence hasbeen registered in the same police station. A Joint operation was carried outby the Mining department along with coastal police and Captain of Portsofficials.

CCP urges govt to form market scam committee

The Panjim municipality will urge the state government toform a committee headed by a IAS officer to conduct an inquiry into the marketscam and submit its report within three month. Another fraud valued at 6.87 lakhs will be handed over toVigilance.
