Upset over unsatisfactory replies provided by the PWDminister during the Question Hour, the leader of Opposition advised theminister to quit his job.
“If you cannot provide answers to the queries raised bymembers of the House than resign from the ministry,” the senior Rane told thePWD Minister, Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar.
As expected, Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar jumped to therescue of his colleague, saying that the government was still busy clearing themess created by the erstwhile government and criticized the former PWDminister, Churchill Alemao.
Taking a cue from the Opposition leader, Valpoi MLA,Vishwajeet Rane wanted to know, if the PWD minister was so busy clearing themuck of the erstwhile government then how many officers had been suspended sofar.
The Valpoi MLA asked the chief minister to suspend the chiefengineer and the PWD secretary, who were equally responsible for the messcreated by the erstwhile government.
Parrikar said that before initiating any action againstofficers, his priority was to first set the department in order. Once that isdone, action will be initiated against corrupt officers, he added.
Vishwajeet further sought payment breakup cleared by the PWDMinister since taking over the charge of the PWD ministry.
Dhavalikar informed that as of now Rs 593 crore payments ofprevious government was cleared, but he could not provide the breakup detailsof payment cleared by the government.
