At the Central and state level there is a clamour for change. The same sentiment prevailed to displace Congress after 70 years in the seat of power. Once again the predominant yearning is the same. There is but no alternative. BJP is going guns on family rule, but BJP is just one man's rule. BJP is promoting and advertising just one individual as there is none in the parry hierarchy to fetch votes or make perceivable dent.
TMC though a regional outfit is attempting an all India image and in all fairness nothing to complain about its aspirations. There are more similarities then glaring differences in their approach, except that BJP presence is more wide spread and their organisation machine is well oiled. On the ground there is no appreciable programme to better the economy, for development, fight unemployment, on women's security, rising prices, pollution and to provide water, food and shelter.
The poaching of legislators, destabilizing legitimately elected Govt, fuelling caste considerations and placating women voters is the best flavour of the season. Decide wisely and choose the candidate intelligently who deserves our confidence to make a difference.
