The Centre has decided to sanction 250 more e-buses to Goa. This is a welcome move as electric buses will reduce pollution.
However as far as price of ticket is concerned, the KTC is charging and additional Rs 5 on the routes Panjim, Margao and Vasco as cost for AC buses.
When EV buses were introduced the Centre reduced the diesel price but KTC continued to charge extra for AC EV buses.
The monthly pass holders commuting for their work and duties both in state government and private sectors have to pay extra Rs 5 in shuttle bus services both to Panjim, Margao, Vasco and vice versa.
The Centre has asked to reduce the tickets by 20% but on other hand KTC has increased ticket rates with effect from November 22.
Many commuters are monthly pass holders who are regular travellers to their work place and hold shuttle bus service pass with EV -AC buses by paying extra 100- in advance.
But when they leave or arrive after their duties the said buses may not be available hence have to travel in any buses allotted at that point of time.
Also, KTC should display the timings for EV buses at Panjim, Margao, Vasco stations so that the commuters are aware of availability of buses.
Hope KTC officials take the appropriate action in the above mentioned
