The threat of climate change is a real danger to not only to Goa by the world in general. For Goa in particular there are dedicated activists fighting hard against an extremely corrupt/destructive Goa government and then you have Goans with foreign passports/residency who appear not to care or show any support to Goan activists thinking all ill-effects of environment destruction will not affect them. Some Goans on OCI cards, in Colva particularly have gone beserk in facilitating the massive destruction of environment (for real estate/commercial objectives many times via illegal means) with obviously the objective to use this ill-gained wealth in their adopted countries. It’s important to note that the fight against eco terrorists is happening in many parts of the world; including countries in the developed world where these specific Goans have adopted citizenship. Hence I hope Goans understand this and join in increasing numbers the fight against environmental destruction as in my view “charity begins at home in Goa”.
