With the defection of 8 Goa Congress MLAs to the BJP after the earlier defection of 10 others, 2 years ago, I wonder what remains now of the grand old party, and what purpose it serves for the remaining three MLAs to continue in the party. Probably it is a different God speaking to them to continue , in stark contrast to their earlier party leader and comrade who was inspired to defect with divine backing. It is sad that the name of God has been dragged into the filthy game of politics by these turncoats to justify their demonic defections and betrayal of voter trust, for their personal benefits. It is also sad that politicians of late have been instrumental in making and breaking elected govts, driven by their unsatiated greed for power and money. What a turnaround from the earlier days, when voters held the trump card in govt formation with their constitutional voting rights.Where are we heading to?
