If you can’t beat them, join them

Finally, the Lotus has bloomed again. However, more important is that Goans exercised their constitutional right by participating in the election process.

The election campaign was a heated one with all parties gunning for the BJP in their attempt to defeat their candidates. But the result proved otherwise with the saffron party securing a near absolute majority with 20 seats.

The only thing all the parties can do now is introspect what went wrong, learn from their mistakes and get ready for the next elections.

The MGP it may be recalled had launched a critical campaign against the saffron party and had vowed never to support it. But MGP and the Independents who have now extended support to the BJP have realised that it is no use sitting in the opposition.

They have realised that if you can’t beat them, join them.

In conclusion, all the 40 MLAs who have been elected should now forget the past and get down to work for the betterment of Goa and the common man.
