Every day, news surfaces of people getting arrested in job scams in Goa. In recent days, individuals from different areas have been accused of cheating candidates and young people out of lakhs of rupees, pretending to offer government jobs. Among those involved are Pooja Naik, Deepashri Sawant, Pooja Yadav, and Mandrekar from Canacona. With more complaints being filed by victims, further arrests are likely.
The situation has become even more serious with the suicide of Shridhar Satarkar after his interrogation in connection with the case, confirming that such scams have indeed been taking place. The Goa government should now urgently implement Staff Selection Commission exams for various posts, conducted fairly to ensure that eligible and deserving candidates receive jobs.

Demand for government jobs remains high, and some parents even gather funds to secure positions for their children. This situation has raised concerns, especially over how Pooja Naik, the main accused, was granted bail within hours despite an active complaint and FIR against her. The accused appear to be well-connected and remain unpunished. The law should be equal for all, yet it seems justice is not being served for those who fell victim to the false hope of a government job.
