Mopa parking fee hike unfair

Strongly objecting to the steep hike in parking fees from Rs 80 to Rs 200 at the Manohar International Airport by the Mopa airport management, taxi operators have threatened an agitation if the fees are not rolled back within 48 hours. They warned that higher parking costs will push up taxi fares, hitting passengers and tourism. Many unemployed switched to operating taxis after taking loans, but the hike will dent their earnings. They demand a staggered rate system. If the agitation goes ahead, it will create a bad impression of Goa on visitors, including foreign tourists.s.
