Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vishwajit Rane while speaking in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in Sattari on Saturday has said that if needed, he can bring 45,000 people from Sattari to Panaji in response to the agitation by Palem-Siridao villagers in front of the TCP office and that there is no need to back-track on development that benefits the people. Well, what else Vishwajit can say and do in Goa? Yes, as a politician, he can only threatern Goans issuing such outbursts, hire all the gullible poor people from Sattari by promising them a attractive snack package and bring them to any part of the state to save himself from all his misdeeds. But the one thing Rane should remember is that the 45,000 people from Sattari he intends bringing to Panaji to threatern those protesting to save Goa cannot represent the aspirations of the Goan population. Vishwajit should therefore stop displaying arrogance by behaving like one big dictator, if not like one Salazaar and instead should learn to listen to the voice of Goans.
