The present state of politics, economy and society calls for introspection. The Covid pandemic has created more Indian crorepatis, but at the same time driven the poor into poverty, unhappiness and deprivation. That’s bizarre! The Bhumiputra Bill was passed in the monsoon session amidst strong opposition and subsequently vehemently reviled by the people of Goa. So much so the Bill was renamed and finally sent to the law department to examine it, something that should have been done before. Then the High Court quashed the Centre’s notification on blue-flag certification for Miramar beach since the central government was not justified in dispensing with public notice. In UP, a Muslim shop having a Hindu name was forced to change it by goons. In MP, another Muslim was bullied and told to chant “Jai Shri Ram”. Also, the rising number of rapes and love jihad across the country are worrying. Neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Mohan Bhagwat will order a halt to these wrongs. The BJP is encouraged to think it owns India, ignore democratic values and rule in an autocratic manner. Are we working towards a Hindu Pakistan?
