Debates between political opponents are relevant and necessary. It is all about discussing important legislative issues. In a democracy, the people have the right to understand matters concerning the welfare of their village, city and the state as a whole. After all, political leaders are elected by the people who have all the right to know what is being spent for their welfare and development. And debates should cover all important subjects such as health, education, sports, agriculture and functioning of local bodies. Leaders who choose to reject debates are not fit to govern.
