There seems to be a veritable tug of war between our ex-CM and the pretender to the throne, the erstwhile Health Minister with both aspirants rushing to the party high command at Delhi to stake their respective claims to be anointed as the next head of government in Goa.
That there is inner party wrangling for the CM's post is lost on no one, the saffronites have been trotting out lame excuses for delay in formation of the new government.
They have gone so far as to say that the time is inauspicious for government formation, therefore the delay in proceedings. For now Sawant seems to have a head start considering the blood, toil, sweat and tears he has put in (got to give credit where credit is due) to make the saffron party storm back to power; it was a lost cause according to many political pundits.
With 20 seats and the support of five other winning candidates the BJP has a brute majority in the assembly.
To the winner goes the spoils but not too sure whether this is good for democracy, expect the vice like saffron grip on the State to tighten.
