A Good Samaritan in Covid times

As Goans lost several of their family members, we and a few other lucky persons across Goa met a Good Samaritan who had so much of time, patience and energy for free on his hand.

This is Gaston Dias, a retired Director of New York University, our own Goan from Sarzora, presently living in Mumbai. I can confidently say, life would not be easy if my friends and relatives were not introduced to Gaston.

Tirelessly Gaston accepts day-to-day status calls, 24x7. It was overwhelming to discover that he took care of 16 patients in Goa since April 15 till date to good success.

I got to know that Gaston got his experience in helping Covid-19 patients when he first helped a patient in Mumbai on April 4. And then through his association with various doctors in Mumbai and Goa, including a Dean and a professor of Virology, Gaston got the confidence to serve the needy.

Being of our own Goan and showing humanity, our prayers will always be there with Gaston to keep up the good work as we need more and more Good Samaritans in these challenging times.
