The other day, I was attending the program on World’s Wetland Day. The students from some schools put up beautiful street plays for the audience. Such programs organized by the Departments should be videographed and played on TV for the public.
Better still, it would be appreciated if our MLAs, who are elected before the start of their assembly sessions, allow such street plays to be showcased for the elected representatives. This way, they can become aware of their decision-making policies regarding the environment.
The students should be encouraged by their teachers/schools to write to the Minister concerned and the Department for their objections and suggestions.
This will help in saving Goa for future generations, only when the youth who have knowledge of the subjects start to speak out. Otherwise, these messages will remain in the school bags as mere plays for occasions, for which our government is good at doing event management with no action.
