Concrete drain covers missing along DB Marg

Last week there were incidents of vehicles getting trapped in the open and surface drains that run for a significant distance along the DB Marg. Till date the concrete covers, several of which are lying on the footpath, have not been placed back nor new ones used to cover the drains. Agreed that last week it was raining cats and dogs but when personnel of the fire division and electricity department could work under extreme conditions, why not the CCP/Imagine Panaji/ PWD/ GSUD/contractors who were responsible for the mess? Apparently there was no supervision but dereliction of duty when the work was carried out some months back. Everyone seems to be passing on the responsibility, like a ball game in a party. We were happy with our “Unsmart Panaji City,” for we knew where the flaws were. Now it is difficult to predict when and where a road will suddenly cave in.
