In the interest of unifying the secular votes in South Goa, it should be stressed that the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress should immediately mend fences and find common ground as both parties are constituents of the INDIA bloc. Since enough time is required for campaigning, both parties should take up the matter of common candidate representing INDIA on an urgent basis. Delegates of both the AAP and the Congress should call for urgent consultations in order to avert a debacle in South Goa. Like for the entire India for the Lok Sabha elections due most probably by April end or May, these elections should be a straight fight between the INDIA and the NDA. Make no mistake, it is better to be prudent and unite than to regret later. South Goa is a secular bastion and should remain so. Winning and defeating the NDA should be uppermost in the mind of INDIA.
