The death of a power department lineman recently is very sad. Although the linemen are provided with gloves by the department, some rarely make use of these which increases the chances of electrocution. The recent death of the lineman was unfortunate and such incidents must not happen.
This death is a very rare occurrence and one must note that over a period of time the power workers have realised that safety at work should be a priority. I have observed that the linemen in my area are using a wooden ladder instead of a steel one for their own safety.
I have observed that these linesmen are knowledgeable and know their work well. A lineman told me that I should write in the papers that each house must see to it that their individual tree branches must be trimmed as these damage overhead wires and cause short circuits.
