Distribute helmets for free instead of roses

The 10th State Road Safety Week programme organized by Directorate of Transport to educate all motorists on traffic guidelines was inaugurated by Minister of Transport  Mauvin Godinho on Monday at the KTC bus stand, Panaji. The cops from the traffic cell as part of the ongoing programme are seen stopping motorists, asking questions and advising everyone to use only ISI marked helmets and distributing roses at some places in Goa. Well, it would have been better if these cops had taken the initiative of distributing ISI marked helmets free of cost for all the motorists. 

If our transport Minister has so much of concern for the safety of our Goan motorists then why is he not getting all the potholed roads repaired immediately? Today, if we find struggling middle class Goan families buying 4 - 5 two wheeler vehicles in a single house even on loans then that's only because our governments over the years have failed to provide the public with decent 24 x 7 public transport throughout Goa.

Fish markets across the state produce large quantities of fish waste. This waste is disposed of in an unscientific manner.
