I will take it as a positive step, the decision of the collector to investigate and take action on fields being filled in South Goa. However, if the authorities are really serious in addressing the problem I request them to investigate the active role of select panchas ( former and current) in this criminal activity. It’s high time this “mafia” of some specific panchas ( former and current) and also Panchayat secretaries are addressed with stiff punishment including heavy fines and long jail terms.
