Goa’s concrete push and cost to clean air

Goa is facing a serious situation with the air quality worsening on account of urbanisation, as Dr Jorson says.

In Mumbai too, the air quality is bad on account of mass construction and redevelopment, especially in the suburbs. Monitoring is, of course, needed and, moreover, the authorities ought to have a policy in place.

At the moment, redevelopment projects are being sanctioned left, right and centre instead of in a phased manner. It seems we are on the road to suicide, with our lungs getting weaker and the steady destruction of forest cover.
