One fails to understand as to how and why Ministers and MLAs get free and unlimited medical care. As our political servants they should get nothing more than what we the masters are entitled to.
There is no reason why there should be VIP rooms reserved for them at the government hospitals. They should all be treated in general wards like us so that they get a first hand experience of the ordeal and agony faced by the common man. Like all other citizens, they should stand in the queue and also made to shell out from their deep overloaded pockets for medicines and all other medical accessories used.
Needless to say Ministers and MLAs should not be entitled to any treatment in private plush hospitals at tax payer’s expense. Will the government issue the necessary notification bringing Ministers and MLAs on par with the common man at least as far as entitlement to Health Care facilities is concerned?
In a way this would go a long way in enhancing and improving the crumbling medical care facilities at the government run hospitals which has been long overdue.
It’s high time to do away with this abhorring VIP culture which is absolutely unfair to the public and the State Exchequer.
This Pandemic should serve as a timely reminder and a real eye opener for our government for urgent action on major improvements and equality of healthcare for all.
