With the Margao Municipal Council chief officer finally being transferred, happy days are back again at the civic body.
It is reported that there were celebrations and bursting of balloons outside the CO’s office by those who were gunning for his transfer. Songs were also sung and some broke into a dance. This is the price that is paid by those who uphold the rule of law.
It is said that no officer wants to take up the position as Chief Officer at the Margao municipality due to internal politics and pressure from politicians.
Margao municipality is always in the news as there is often friction between the employees and the officers. It seems nobody wants to be corrected in this civic body.
Hope the new chief officer lives up to expectations of the staffers and the politicians.
