Hathras case: CBI probe will not help

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who isdamage control exercise, has reportedly ordered a CBI investigation into theentire chain of events in the Hathras gangrape case. Well, he knows that theCBI is currently fully controlled by the central BJP government and he will beneither held accountable nor forced to resign even if is found guilty of tryingto shield the rapists. And when his most controversial UP police have alreadyburn the victim's body in the middle of the night to destroy all evidence, henow knows that the CBI can do absolutely nothing and the end result will befinally zero. What is required is a high-level probe led by a non-partisanSupreme Court judge outside the state of UP to give justice to the victim'sfamily. The rot is currently deeply rooted and mere suspension of somepolicemen will not bring out the desired results. The investigation agenciesare remote-controlled by the central BJP government.
