All parties must work with us to save Mhadei: AAP

PANAJI
Aam Aadmi Party convener Rahul Mhambre has criticized the press conference by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. He said the CM in his entire address focused on failures the of Congress and said nothing about his plans to save river Mhadei.

“10 years of Congress, 8 years of BJP, Goans are losing Mhadei and both these parties are busy playing the blame game. I want to ask CM Sawant, who took 12 MLA’s from the Congress to form his govt, now he is doing a live press conference to tell us what Congress did, does he think Goans are fools? What has he done to protect Mhadei?”, Mhambre posed.

“CM should have told us that he has the same WRD minister, Philip Neri who was in the Congress government holding the same portfolio. If CM is honest about Mhadei why has he awarded Neri the same ministry? Why Goans should trust him? He said that I am doing every bit for Mhadei, then why has he not taken this issue with PM Modi during his Delhi visit?”, asked Mhambre.

The AAP convener also said BJP has compromised the interest of Goans to the Centre. Since Karnataka has more Parliamentary seats, Centre is favouring Karnataka’s move to protect its political interest. Goa has only 2 MPs, Centre is least interested in listening to Goans. CM is also silent about the gross violations by BJP’s Karnataka govt which is in contempt of the Court order. The structures built by Karnataka has diverted the Mhadei water. We can see that the level of water has reduced even when Goa has received the highest rainfall ever. Just imagine, what will be the situation in summer?

“When will the CM put Goans interest above BJP’s? I want to remind him that Goa may have only 2 MPs but Mhadei has 16 lakh sons and daughters,” said Mhambre.

“Its time that all Goans come together and pledge to protect Mhadei, let us end this blame game and unite for the cause. It is about our right, dignity, mother, and future of our children. Nobody wants to see their children dying from thirst, if we don’t want to put the future of our children at stake, we must work together as a unified force. I appeal to all the political parties to work with us in the interest of Goans leaving all political differences behind,” said Mhambre.
