Thanks to the Supreme Court covering the High Court remarks during arguments that the EC inaction in Bengal election rallies on crowds disobeying Covid protocals could draw charges of murder and the need for transparency in reporting court proceedings.
It is high time the Modi government gains credibility by not trying to supress criticism, accept facts and the truth. So many nations urgently sent Covid help and SOPs (Standard Obstruction Procedures) delayed at the airport whilst people are dying due lack of oxygen and the required medications/equipment.
The Supreme Court had to step in and form a national committee to streamline matters. States are crying out loud, people are dying on the streets and the Centre argues there is no shortage but bad management by States. Still no signs of accountability.
Post election there is violence in Bengal. The PM, Union HM at their mass rallies unbecomingly derided Didi and accused and threatened to put TMC people behind bars, send them to Bangladesh, unleash violence on them when they come to power etc. This is taunting and asking for counter violence? Police registers two FIRs against false news and old video clips being circulated, BJP deletes posts after already shared 1000s of times.
No one condones violence but this sort of behaviour is unacceptable. No one is perfect, but it appears the Modi government accepts no accountability, makes no mistakes and cannot apologise or show compassion when it is so obvious to everyone else and need of the hour.
