There is a storm brewing in the Congress over the new entrants. Existing workers and potential candidates are feeling threatened and protesting. Is it all about what the politicians want, not the people? The people want new faces. They want educated candidates, preferably professionals, who could lead them in the House. Formerly, the problems faced by Goa were limited to those within Goa. Today, all the corrupt businessmen from outside the state are using all sorts of lobbying with central ministers to change land ownership in Goa. Neither the ruling party nor the ‘mature’ Opposition party leaders in Goa have even an inkling on how to tackle the same. The ruling party, a mere postman for the Centre, starts a fire and the others fight amongst themselves. The potential new faces must realise that the ball game has shifted from the Goa League to the ISL. Today it is not about looking after local issues but about saving Goa from capitalists with black money who can ‘hire’ the best ministers and legal minds. The present leaders have failed miserably. It is now time the people decide what kind of leaders they want.
