As the history sheeter Hazrat Ali Sheikh alias Tiger Anwar has been allegedly found murdered on Sunday in Karnataka, Goa police informed that the deceased history sheeter was involved in a number of criminal activities in Goa before his end came on Sunday.
Only recently, the South Goa Sessions Court had framed charges against five persons for attempt to murder Tiger Anwar at Fatorda in February last after he was attacked by a rival gang with lethal weapons including a country made. In fact, Tiger Anwar had escaped death, thanks to the intervention by SP (Konkan Railway police station) SP Sammy Tavares who reached the spot and nabbed two of the assailants near Arlem Circle, Fatorda.
Goa police pointed out that Tiger Anwar was involved in a number of criminal cases at Margao, Fatorda, Quepem, besides other police stations.
In fact, the Margao police had initiated externment proceedings against Tiger Anwar which is pending with the South Goa district Magistrate.
Fatorda PI Kapil Naik has claimed that Tiger was arrested in two cases of assault and extortion last year.
