Kudos to ‘The Goan Everyday’ for starting the special supplement ‘The Global Goenkar’ which appears in the Saturday edition of the newspaper. It must be said that Goans have made a name for themselves in various fields in the countries they have settled. Right from politics, music, legal profession, sports, medical profession Konkani tiatr, etc, Goans have left a mark in the countries they now live in. ‘The Global Goenkar’ helps Goans in the state connect with these Goenkars settled abroad. The supplement gives an insight into the achievements in various fields of these Goans settled in various countries like Australia, United Kingdom, Canada and Portugal. Kudos to all those Goans who have adopted the country of their choice and who contribute to this special supplement. They are very enlightening articles which give a peep into the world of Goans who play a prominent role in the multiple disciplines in the country they have adopted. This special supplement of TGE can only grow with time and hopefully the stories of Goans living in other countries, especially the Gulf countries will find a place here. These Goans settled abroad are also able to comment on the various aspects of their home state and can provide inputs on how to improve the life of Goans back home.
