Our caretaker Chief minister Pramod Sawant has personally started marketing controversial movies like "The Kashmir Files" in a big way in the state. He has already declared the said controversial film free from entertainment tax in the state and is now heard advising Goans to watch the film after telling owners/managers of all the theatre/multiplex houses to have maximum shows of the said film. Which means that Sawant wants to somehow force Goans to watch the said film and polarise our peace-loving state on communal lines. The question which needs to be asked to leaders like Sawant is that if he is so hell-bent on backing such movies in the name of defending freedom of speech, then why movies like "Parzania" (a film that was inspired by true story of 2002 Gujarat genocide and released in 2007) are not given much publicity in the state and were even banned by ruling BJP government in states like Gujarat? Now, why these double standards?
Goans are definitely not bullies, they are in their senses and highly educated. So, let them alone decide whether the said movie is worth watching or not in Goa.
